There is no specific food that can cause diabetes, but there are certain food types that are better avoided to decrease the risk factors of developing diabetes. These are saturated fats and cholesterol like high-fat dairy products and animal proteins, trans fats like fried and processed foods, salty foods, and added sugar like sweets and sweetened beverages.
